Cats As Art

Friday CatBlogging

This photo was not staged. I put some stuff on top of the washing machine to get it out of the way while I was cleaning. Zima came along and decided it was a good place to curl up for a sunny nap. Cats have a knack for artistic placement. They can be decorative, living art. Too bad Zima's only decorating the laundry room...

My cat has been in full on Annoyance Mode for the last week. Maybe it's the heat. He lies up on the top of the dryer and gets it all hairy, so I never leave anything sitting up there. So now, he goes to wherever the clean clothes are and makes himself a new bed. Grr...

I wear cat hair to work every day. I like to wear dark colors, so in retrospect, a white cat was a bad choice. She is kind enough to make her bed in the dirty clothes basket, rather than on clean stuff, but somehow there is always cat hair on everything anyway. At least it's clean cat hair...

That is an outstanding shot. I would not even have noticed the background if you had not mentioned it. Even after I did notice it, it did not diminish the mood of the shot in the least.

Thanks. Zima is a beautiful cat. What doesn't come across in indoors shots (unless her eyes are closed as in this picture) is that she has two different colored eyes. If I have use a flash, it is hard to see the difference, because of the red eye effect. If I take her picture outdoors you can see that one eye is blue and one is gold.
