The blog turns two today.
Once again, I will thank all of you who read and comment here. You are the reason that this is fun. I have enjoyed the friendships that have developed over the past two years (and much earlier for those of you from FMD and SSD).
Two years ago, I was in the summer doldrums and going a little bit crazy trying to study for Part 1 of my board exams. Back then I was posting about stuff like Dilberty things at work, laughably annoying and incompetent people I used with work with, how it never rains here (the big drought was just getting started then, and I had no idea I'd still be bitching about it two years later), and of course books, TV, and movies. Catblogging started very early on, as did LL complaining about the cat pictures. But wait! There's more! Top ten lists, bizarre "research" into odd subjects, and shameless YouTube filler posts. There was also a generous helping of the habits, hazards, and just plain goofiness of ordinary living.
Two years on, I'm in the doldrums of summer, studying for Part 2 of my board exam, still not getting enough rain, and posting about the same old crap as in 2006. You would think that doing something for two years would involve getting better at it, but sadly, that doesn't seem to be the case here. Maybe the third year's the charm?

Happy Blogaversary!
And, turning two, I don't think you're supposed to be a blog master yet, right? You're just getting potty trained.
Happy Number 2! I think I'm going on year 3 with mine, but I've never actually celebrated the years. I need to do that and give away some of my books at the same time (I'm running out of space on the shelves).
Wanted to let you know, I'm still watching "Six Feet Under" and thoroughly enjoying it. David's fantasies are hardeeharharlarious. He's so opposite of Dexter. It's an enjoyable show.
And I caught up on all posts too. Love the photos. Red, white and blue cat. Hahaha!
Oh yeah, and I was watching Buffy yesterday as I do every weekend and out front of their coffee shop she went to sit down on a glider and it was almost a replica of your glider, but beat up with yucky paint. I was like, "That's Fermicat's glider," and my kids were like, "Ferma-what?" hehe
I still want one.
sunshine - thanks. Maybe I will graduate to pull-ups one of these years! ;-)
beth - I sold some of my books on Amazon a few years back when I needed to purge. It wasn't too much trouble and I made a buck or two. Glad you are liking "Six Feet Under" - it was really different kind of TV.
I never noticed a glider in Buffy - now I will have to look for it. Might be a while. Right now, PDM and I are re-watching Farscape.
Does this mean that you've graduated from posting cat pictures? :P
And I think you are getting better... why... you've mentioned me twice in two posts now... :ewink:
Happy blogaversary! Post more cat pictures.
But I like coming here. This year we all get to hang out on your new porch. :D
We're getting a metric ton load of rain up here. I'd be more than happy to share.
LL - graduated from cat picture posting? Have you looked at the title of this blog? I think I should post even MORE cat pictures...
dr s - ... because dr sardonicus said so!
bc - come on over, there's more than enough room. Plus, there's drinks and cats for laps (and cricket songs and lightning bugs to serenade your senses).
kat - please do send some down here. Once again, our yard is extra crispy and my trees and perennials are looking very stressed. Even the moss lawn in the back is brown. Bummer.
I vote for more cat pictures too!!
and stories about cats - with pictures
you don't need to get better at something when you're already good at it :)
I enjoy your blog - especially the cat pictures!!
Happy Two.
I'm eating a slice of cake in your honor.
Buffy's on Saturday and Sunday mornings, that's the only reason why I watch it. Convenience -- and habit. I don't own any episodes, which is weird.
Still no Farscape. I have to at least get the first disk. I think I'll queue it up on Netflix and force my son to watch atleast the first ep with me.
I vote for more cat pictures, as well. Not only because I enjoy the cat pictures, but I also enjoy the annoying of LL. ;-)
dianne - stories with the cat pictures? How 'bout I just make some "lolcats"? ;-)
jim - how was the cake?
beth - I recommend you don't try to make your son (or anyone else) watch Farscape. Just pop that first episode in your DVD player and start watching. I'll bet someone else gets sucked into it in spite of themselves.
kat - LL has quite the fan club of bloggers who enjoy annoying him. The complaining about cat photos is bad enough, but then he has to go and call young Nathan Fillion an "old guy" over and over, as if that would make it true. Sheesh.
Two years, huh? So add like 40 to that and that's your age?
*ignoring LL*
dave - thanks!
wa11z - or multiply by 21. Sounds less old that way.
Happy Blogoversary! Keep up the good work, especially the catblogging ;)
