Miami is probably the best team in the ACC this year. Georgia Tech simply doesn't throw the ball well enough to catch up in games where they fall behind quickly.
As for throwing -- we are a running team. That is what we do well. We should only do enough throwing to keep the other defense honest. I say we dance with the one that brought us and stop trying to be something we're not.
And I say it isn't 1970 anymore. I know that's what Paul Johnson coaches, but major college defenses are too sophisticated now, and you just can't win consistently running the option the way those old Oklahoma and Nebraska teams used to. You can beat the Dukes and the Vanderbilts that way, and win enough to go to a bowl, but to win the ACC championship and play in a BCS bowl you need a little more diversity on offense.
I think the jury's still out on Coach Paul Johnson's unique style of offense and how it will work in the BCS conferences. It has to be run accurately in order to evaluate it. That hasn't happened at Tech this season. People are missing blocks all over the place.
Sadly, I do know those feelings all too well and have watched Penn State lose heartbreakers from time to time. In some ways, I suppose I should be relieved that our cable company doesn't carry the Big Ten Network so I can't watch every game the Nittany Lions plays then. Might make my blood pressure go sky high some days I'm afraid!

We need to grow a defense, and fast.

I gather things didn't go your way?

Sounds like Superman is looking for a new pair of pajamas. :P
Jeni - it is safe to say that not a single thing went our way.
LL - I haven't given up on Coach Paul Johnson, and neither should Superman.
