PDM and I took today off work. We both needed it, for different reasons. This morning we went out and applied for passports. It could have gone more smoothly than it did, but it ended up OK. Hopefully sometime between now and August (when we would like to travel) our shiny new passports will show up in the mail.
After a quick trip to the Pub for lunch, we decided to go see Spidey 3. It was fun, but the movie could have been shorter without losing anything. I didn't enjoy it as much as the first two. It was a bit predictable, and parts of it seemed contrived. But hey, it sure beat working!
Now I'm trying to decide between goofing off the rest of the day and doing something useful. Believe it or not, I'm leaning towards doing something useful.
And of course, we'll be glued to the TV at 9pm for the next installment of Heroes. Tonight's episode: "The Hard Part".

Slacker... ;)
And where do you plan on going with these shiny new passports?
ll - pffffftt!
jim - we're thinking of going to Banff, in the Canadian Rockies. It's weird going through all this passport hassle just to go to Canada. Last time I went there, I just took my birth certificate with me. But that was in 1994 and it's a different world now.
Laughing at you and LL. I saw Spidey-3 and shook my head up and down to everything you wrote. Tell me though, when Tobey is infected by the Venom sludge stuff, don't you love the way he struts and dances? That was my favorite part.
Those Canadians, we better watch out for 'em, eh - all those Commie terrorists up there with their socialist health care and everything, they're a threat to our way of life...
A day off! What's it like? I hope you enjoyed it to its fullest.
beth - the strutting was funny, but I could have dealt with a lot less of it. I wish they'd done more with Venom. He was a good villain. Fun to hate, weasely, etc.. They should have stuck with one villain and developed him more fully.
dr s - I'll be getting a few pharmaceutical souveniers, I'm sure. They sell some medicine I could use for my migraines over the counter up there. You need a Rx to get the same stuff here.
twg - not sure I enjoyed the day to the *fullest*, but still had fun. I wish that you could get a day off soon and revel in it.
You should have the passports by August. I've never waited for than a month to get mine.
How fun to play hookey!
Fermi - Living in Detroit we're very much aware of the need for passports now just to go across the river. And Windsor is feeling it because it's such a PITA now, fewer people are doing it.
