Get Me The Heck Outta Here!

looking up
For a short week, it sure has been awful. Software crisis at work stretching into its second week, working late every day without actually accomplishing the thing I wanted to stay late for, every day a reason I have to come in early in spite of having worked late the day before, equipment malfunctions of every kind, and me being all kinds of tired. This photo shows Zima's way of getting away from it all - namely a bratty Silvio determined to "play". I wish I had a handy rail to climb atop of to get away from all of my problems.

The weekend just HAS to be an improvement. We are having some folks over to watch the Georgia Tech at Boston College game on Saturday. We also have our sights on creating a detailed plan for our next home improvement project (the downstairs bathroom, which will be demolished and rebuilt from scratch, and needs to be completed in time for the Thanksgiving family invasion) and we need to create a menu and music playlist for our next party, coming up in a few weeks.

My advice -relax and enjoy the game! Have a couple drinks, some good food and if that doesn't work, then hunt down a pole to climb out on to get away from it all. Love that picture and how smart that cat is to get out there! Or, just happened to think of this too -just sit back and do some "cat-watching!" Now that can be really great for relaxation, don't 'cha think? Works well for me anyway.

You're very detail-oriented, like myself. Sometimes it's such a curse.

I left a super huge comment on the entry below. Not sure if you saw it, but I believe it contained a thank you for 6' Under. =)

We're still doing construction/renovation. Oh God, I need to light a fire under hubby's ass because it's just dragging. I also need to fine a different shower door. =/

For the party...

Music: Metal. Just metal.

Food: Chili. Just chili.

jeni - I get pretty wound up watching college football. I can relax after the game!

beth - I just now answered your comments in the last post. Detail oriented is a plus in this job, but it sucks when things are all jacked up. Construction always take longer and is more expensive than your first estimate.

wa11z - you will be shocked, just shocked, to find out that metal is extremely underrepresented in our music library. But chili sounds like a great plan! We might do that tomorrow.

If I were you, I'd have plenty of booze stocked for the Tech-BC game. You'll need it...

dr s - I hope not. But BC has a terrific run defense, so it is possible that things will not go well. Plus it might rain. I wonder if Tech can hold on to a slippery football?

"metal is extremely underrepresented in our music library."

fermi my dear... that is easily remedied...

I assume you're enjoying yourself at the moment. Congratulations.

ll - not sure the metal would get along with all the blues and funk we've got...

dave - I'm happy, but that game had a lot of tense moments. We've got to stop making so many mistakes. I have confidence in the new coach, and feel sure that our guys will know exactly what they did right and wrong and will learn from the experience.

Bet you were glad to see this weekend come. Hope all worked out better over the weekend.

It's kind of nice to know that it wasn't just my week that was horrific. It might have only been four days, technically, but it felt like a month. I too worked late damn near every day and still felt like I was banging my head against a wall.

jenny - yeah, the weekend was good.

kat - it is better this week, so far. Last week was the worst we've had in a long time. It seems like a lot of people had a bad time last week. Bad mojo going around...
