In Case You Missed It...

Here is what the eclipse looked like from my neck of the woods. The clouds kindly dispersed right when things got interesting. We had a great view of the red moon at totality. Regulus and Saturn are also visible in the first photo.

I held my little digital camera up to the eyepiece of my binoculars to get this next shot. I was unable to hold the combo very steady for the long exposure, so I posted the least blurry of the bunch.

Damn good thing someone got to see that show! I was going to try to slip outside tonight and see if I could see anything but certain things kind of got in my way - like my daughter having to go to her girlfriend's house, son-in-law working at his part-time second job and me stuck in the house with the two little hooligans, one of which was having a feud with me most of the evening over who was the boss -me or her! (I finally won! Well, for tonight anyway.) But anyhow, there was no way I could slip out and watch anything!

We had lots of quickly-moving clouds, but still managed to get a good peek at the action.

You did great with the pics for not having a very long lens. Well done!

Great photos. None of mine came out. The sky was so clear here - for the first time all that day. It was lovely.

I should have dressed better. I was out in the driveway wearing flip-flops and sweats. I thought I'd just look and run back in but it was so beautiful that I stayed out for a long time.

LL - you missed a good show. Was the earthquake a consolation prize?

jeni - awww, that stinks being too busy to see it.

tiff - we had thin clouds early, but they vanished just at the right time. These pics turned out much better than the ones I took of the last eclipse.

dianne - it was a little chilly, but not uncomfortable.

Beautiful pictures! I got a quick look, unfortunately it was cloudy. I wish it had been the night before, when the sky was crystal clear. Still, it was awesome. I've seen some really nice pix of it today online too.

I was so pissed at myself for forgetting!

I took pictures also, but yours actually look good. I live in a forest. There was just a bright globe through the trees with mine.
