The bad news is that I had to go to yet another lecture at work today. The good news is twofold: this lecturer actually spoke decent English (unlike the Tuesday at 4pm lecturer, who absolutely did NOT), and the department bought the attendees lunch from Doc Shey's - yummmmmmmm. My lunch came with a fortune cookie that happened to contain two fortunes. Not a bad thing, I say.
The first said that I should remember this date (hard to forget on Leap Day) because in "exactly three months" I can expect something wonderful to happen. The second said to expect a terrific vacation soon. I can't help but think that on May 29 (which happens to be my birthday), PDM is going to give me a kick-ass vacation as a present. Cool!

Did you drop the hint to PDM yet? :P
How many mimosas did you have before you allowed yourself to fantasize like this? ;-)
You reasoning about the fortune cookies makes good sense to me. If I were you, I'd probably start shopping for clothes, packing them in new luggage too while contemplating the great vacation get-away obviously being planned for that time in 3 months from now.
Oh yeah. Where could you possibly go on vacation that would be exciting and new?
I'm sure PDM reads your blog for birthday hints.
ll - absolutely! He says he already knows what he is getting me for my birthday, but he could add that vacation into the mix, right?
mw - alas... no mimosas were served at the lecture. No doubt they would be more popular if that happened. Maybe I could anonymously suggest it to the new chairman (who seems hell bent on having lots and lots of these lectures).
jeni - logic and reason are our friends! Especially in cases like this.
mw - Are you suggesting South Dakota? We were actually thinking of going to Arizona in May. It isn't new to me, but PDM has never been to the desert and I haven't been there in 5-6 years and would enjoy going back.
dr s - PDM doesn't stop in here very often, unless he is having a slow day at work (a rare occurrence). He's just not a blog reader. And I have learned to be much more direct about my "hints" - as in just ask for exactly what I want. PDM says hints don't work on guys and I have to agree with him based on past experience.
Vacations rock.
Makes perfect sense to me.
I've sat thought many a lecture that took me 3/4ths of the time to figure out the the lecturer was saying...it's a real treat when one can understand them from the get-go!
Oooh, you guys could go to Flagstaff, see the red rocks in Sedona and then Meteor Crater! That would be a fun dessert vacation for your birthday! Of course you wouldn't be allowed to laugh too hard at all the crystal-grabbing hippies in Sedona, a fortune cookie would have brought you there after all.
Sedona, one of the most beautiful places on Earth, that I've been to. Just a skip over to the Canyon and then a few hours down to Phoenix. Good stuff.
