Retread Christmas Catblogging

A rerun from 2006, but still funny. This is the reason why we didn't put up a tree this year. Moxy might be "over it", but Silvio would be even worse... Zima, ever a lady, is above the fray.

Oh. I thought you didn't put up a tree this year 'cause you said you hated Jesus. ;)

nypinta - yeah. They're nice. When they aren't destroying your Christmas tree.

ll - gotta love 'em.

wa11z - No, I just hate Santa Claus.

Actually, this is the part of Christmas I hate the most. The week before, all kind of stuff not done yet, and everything you need to do now is a giant hassle (because of all the other last minute people). I walked into the Post Office with an armload of packages, saw the incredibly long line, and walked the hell right back out to my car. No frelling way!

Tired now. Going to watch some basketball on the tube and drink some wine. Maybe curl up with a cat or two...

Our old cat, Gracie -the senile one -is way above messing with Christmas trees. Nina -the young cat here now -well, suffice it to say she is still young. She has had a fun time on occasion batting ornaments off the tree, all over the house as a matter of fact and yes, she has been responsible for the tree falling on its face two out of the three times it has fallen in the past 10 days. The culprit the third time it fell was a certain four-year-old, Princess Maya. But in Nina's defense, she didn't know the tree over from playing with it but rather from her exuberance in jumping from the bow window behind the tree and brushing up against it in doing that! So the cat's not ALL bad ya know.

jeni - between Maya and the felines, sounds like you've got your hands full.

Hey fermi! You and PDM following the boys up this way to watch them play on the smurf-turf?

ll - I couldn't talk PDM into going to Jax last year. I'm 100% certain he'd nix the blue bowl. Besides... Idaho in December? You've got to be kiddin' me. We'll be comfy and warm watching it in HD on our big ole TV in Atlanta.

Tech went to that bowl a few years back and the players speak well of it. They said they had a fun time and got some good freebies and such.

Yeah... but that was Florida. Who wants to go to Florida in December?

And besides... it's Boise. Boise isn't that cold despite what you might think. It's probably colder than Atlanta, but it'd do you two good to get outside once in a while. All of that sitting indoors is playing hell with your tan.

But on the other hand... if you came out here, you'd probably end up selling your place in Atlanta and moving so... maybe it's best that you stay home. :P

"...Boise isn't that cold despite what you might think."

USWX.com says that in Boise on 12/31, the average high is 35, the average low is 22F, and you get 8 hours and 59 minutes of daytime. That's in the range of what I expected. And it does not compare favorably with Atlanta's 50F high, 31F low, and 9 hours and 56 minutes of time in the sun. At least not for this southern girl with thin blood.

I'm sure it's pretty in Idaho, and I do enjoy winter sports, but you'll be watching CBS 24/7 before I ever decide to pack my bags and move to Boise.

What? 9 hours of daylight isn't enough for the dead of winter? And it's a warm 35 to boot...

You're not even the least bit nostalgic about cool weather with a touch of snow about?

Can't say that I am.

I am, however, a bit wistful thinking about that glorious heat wave we had last week. Sigh.
