Feeding Mikey

Silvio likes to put Mikey (the tattered toy mousie) in his food bowl. I'm not sure why he does it. Does he put him there because he thinks Mikey needs to eat, or does he put him there because he recognizes that mousies are food? Maybe he just likes to hang around with him. It is less charming when Silvio puts Mikey in the water dish and we have to clean up the mess.

Wow! Silvio has gotten big! My cats also put things in their food bowl. I heard once that they do it so that they can keep track of their "stuff" and know where to find it for later. Allison is particularly found of stealing my hair binders and putting them in her dish. Gross.
Cute picture!

Sorry, I meant fond, not found. Drinking + blogging = typos.

Mikey is his teddy bear. He is a kid, right?

magnetbabe - he is the same size as Zima and much heavier. Drinking? Yeah, sometimes I think computers need to have a built-in breathalyzer - over a certain amount, everything you do should be "read only" to keep you out of trouble.

wa11z - yup! Still a kid.

My kids only like food in their food bowls...and they're obsessed with the quantity of food in said bowls.

Kitties are the most innnteresting pets! They have amazing quirks. I love that Silvio does that. Does he take it out when he's done?

Holy crap, this was the most delightful post I've read in a long time. The story. The picture. My God woman, why do you not write a fabulous cat book, chocked full of your own pics?!?

That was hilarious. So adorable!

Have you ever answered that question for me.

kat - mine like volume. But then they gorge on it and puke it right back up. Usually on a rug, sofa, or the bed.

twg - I've never seen him remove it. But I don't leave it in there long enough to find out.

beth - I think other people have already done it... probably better than I could.

My cat loves to knock everything I put in her bowl out of it before she eats it. I'd love for her to develope the habit of leaving things in the bowl for a change. ;)

Not true. Not true. I came back to say if anyone else has done it, it was NO way better than your pics or how you could do it. I'm a dog lover and yet I love your cats, the stories, etc. This takes talent and love of your subject!
