This little chipmunk got himself stuck in our birdfeeder. Surprised the hell out of me when I took the top off to refill it. I expect to see a bug or two in there, not a small mammal!
kat - I don't kill them. My cats do. Mostly Zima. Moxy plays with them a lot, but I have never seen her make a kill. Zima usually kills them instantly. She is a very efficient hunter.
ll - Are you sure you don't miss cat blogging? The day's not over, you know! ;-)
The upper and lower openings are both obstructed and he sure seemed stuck. But maybe he just didn't want to come out in front of the scary human. I laid the feeder down in the grass and he squeezed himself out and ran away.
I want to see a picture of your FACE. I just caught up on all your posts and you have such a beautiful face, but you never show it. That "sliver" pic of you at Flickr is gorgeous. What cheekbones and what a facial shape. Perfecto.
And ... happy birthday to you. Yes, it's belated, but I mean it and that's what counts. What didya end up eating?
I have a chipmunk here who cleans up all the overage from the feeder we have in front of my daughter's window. So adorable!
dianne - I can't speak for the chipmunk, but I was pretty damned startled.
beth - thanks for the compliment and the birthday wishes. I don't post many photos of myself because I am the photographer and my "self portraits" tend to be the kind that you took note of - a partial shot of me, or a shadow, etc. There are a couple of face photos of PDM and me on Flickr, but they are viewable only by users that I have marked as friend or family. If any of you are on Flickr, send me a Flickr mail and I will add you to the list. As MW has mentioned in comments on a recent post, Flickr has a basic membership that is free.
My dinner? Started with shrimp remoulade and a beefsteak tomato and onion salad with bleu cheese crumbles and balsamic vinaigrette, had a petite filet with rock lobster tail as main course (potatoes lyannaise and spinach on the side), and the berries and creme dessert. We also had a bottle of Merryvale Starmont Cabernet. GREAT meal!

Lucy - it is a fun bird feeder. It is cute to see birds land on the tongue.
I've seen squirrels hanging on it, and the occasional nocturnal racoon visit, but this is the first chipmunk.
