Steady Rain

Lulled to sleep by a steady rain the last two nights -- ah, what a treat. It happens so infrequently since the drought took over, it is easy to forget how comforting the sound of rain pattering on the roof can be.

*pfft* Drought... your drought would flood us out around these parts!

Fermicat: Rain, rain rain and snow! We've had so much of both. I just want to wake up to sunshine. The good part is: our grass is as green as it's ever been

I'm glad that you're getting rain.

I have always loved the sound of the rain.

There's nothing like going back to sleep when it's raining. I wish it would rain here, just so I'd have an excuse to stay in bed!

I love that sound too. It rained hard here last night. But now that I'm on the 5th floor of a 12 floor building, I don't hear it on the roof any more. That's okay, I can still hear it.

Glad to hear you're getting rain. And wa11z, just wait, your turn will come...

I'm almost tired of it, myself, since I can barely keep up with keeping the grass cut. But the lakes and reservoirs still haven't caught up from last year, and the dry season is right around the corner, so I can put up with a few more weeks of wet weather.

ll - are you counting all that snow you get?

minnesotablue - green grass is a sign of spring.

dianne - I don't know who doesn't like the sound of rainfall!

wa11z - oh, come on. Old would be when I can predict that rain is coming because of how my joints ache.

magnetbabe - why do you need an excuse? You just went through a Huge Big Deal. Sleep in if you want to.

thewritegirl - I used to live in a multistory apartment building too. I used to open the windows just to hear the rain.

dr s - our grass is growing fast also. I don't mind. It will take a long time to refill our reservoirs, and it will take a lot more rainfall before I get tired of it.
