Fool!

So it's April Fools Day. Did anybody get in any good pranks?

We got somebody pretty good at work. One of us (not me) sent a text message toward the end of the day to a co-worker who had already left, and told her that she needed to come back by 7pm to do a procedure. She frantically called back, and got no answer (we were listening to the phones ring while laughing). She was driving her kids to all their after school stuff and was probably freaking out because she couldn't reach any of us. She proceeded to call us one after another, getting no answer (all phones have caller ID and we were all in on it). We were watching all this go down and having a lot of fun at her expense. We let her stew for a good 10-15 minutes. Then we all prepared a text message "APRIL FOOLS!" and send them to her simultaneously. She was a good sport about it. We all had a good laugh.

Don't you just love it when you coordinate a great A.F. joke and it gets pulled of in perfect timing though? That was a neat prank -really liked that - and having all the rest of the staff in on the joke -just good amplification of the humor.

It was kind of a spur of the moment thing, but it worked out great!

You have to choose your victims carefully. Some people aren't very good sports...

You awful monsters! How could you? ;-D

About six years ago, a teacher at the school where I worked (a great cook) made some chocolate-covered cream puffs and put them in the teacher's lounge for everyone to eat, as is the custom. I was the first one to grab one. I was visiting with another teacher at the time and was trying to eat it politely (in other words, I was trying not to drop chocolate crumbs from my mouth like a slob). But it was getting increasingly difficult, and I eventually realized I couldn't bite off the portion that was already in my mouth without looking like a five-year-old. Nonetheless, I continued to try to look like an adult as I was trying to bite it off, hoping to give the impression that nothing was wrong. But it was to no avail. I simply could not bite through that gooey, albeit unusually tasteless, white center in a polite way. I also realized that my front teeth were starting to hurt. What on earth?????? I eventually had to throw sophistication to the wind. I took the cream puff from my mouth with the bitten piece still hanging from it (how embarrassing). That's when I discovered that the white gooey center was actually a huge wad of cotton. I made a loud noise of surprise, whereupon the guilty teacher came from her hiding place laughing her head off. I had to give her great credit. That's the sort of April Fool's joke that I have pulled on people in the past (although not with cream puffs).
