Meet Pythagoras
This little guy (or gal?) has taken up residence in a small rock pile near our mailbox. I first noticed it when I was doing some gardening around there and Zima tried to eat it. The snake wasn't really thrilled about this option, but it is pretty small compared to the cat and was unable to discourage her. So I saved it. And then fetched my camera. I've checked on it every day since, and it seems perfectly happy and safe in the rock pile. We figured if it was gonna stick around, it was only right to give it a name. Meet Pythagoras. Cute, innit?
(Look LL, no cats!)

Why Do I Stay Up So Late?
Probably because I end up working so late. Got home at 8:45 tonight. Still up. Go figure.
I'll probably have to do it again on Thursday just to keep caught up.

Just Because...
The 11th Doctor
I like him. Didn't expect to. But did.
Really nice to have some new Doctor Who episodes to watch again. Hooray! (And new Graham Norton right after. Fun!)
New sonic screwdriver as well. Green?!?

Get Some Perspective, People
WTF Arizona? They just signed a law to make carrying a concealed weapon without a permit OK, but fish pedicures (performed by a 2" toothless fish) are too dangerous to be offered to the public. Okaaaayyy.

Creepy
There is something blundering around near the creek behind our house, and it is really creeping me out. Locking all doors now. Gulp.

The Big Dipper
So... what kind of dipper are you?
I'm a big dipper. Doesn't matter what is getting dunked. Could be chips, nachos, bread, veggies, melba toast, pita slices, fruit, or whatever. I'm going to use it to scoop up the maximum possible spoonful of the salsa, cheese, ranch, guacamole, french onion, peanut butter, spinach, hummus, or some more exotic creation and enjoy the hell out of it. I laugh to myself when I see people gingerly dip a chip into salsa and then shake the good stuff off before eating it. What is the point of that?

I love my job...
...some days more than others.
I left work at 10pm today. [I knew I'd be working late, but in my mind "late" was 7ish, not 10ish.] Trying to resolve technical difficulties. Sadly, still unresolved. I left the computer working on it. Tried to wait it out. Bailed when a back-of-the-envelope calculation showed that I'd be waiting several more hours before it finished. Not that patient. Plus -- hungry. I'm having wine and cookies for dinner. Any port in a storm.

A recipe for misery.
Having the pollen count suddenly shoot up to about a billion while you are in the midst of experiencing a cold is most definitely a recipe for utter, complete misery. That is how I spent my Easter weekend (and Monday). How was yours?
Spring is lovely. Too bad mother nature is such a bitch.
