We're going on another trip. Planning is almost as fun as doing. I'm sorting out the fine details for our vacation-- which area to explore on a given day, and which trails to hike. I think I've got it figured out. The course planning (flights and hotels) was done back in January. This is the fun part.
We leave on Saturday. Can't wait!

Enjoy; but, bundle up I think.
Dave - we just spent a bundle at REI because we didn't have cold weather hiking duds.
Oh yeah. The best part about going when it is still cold is that it keeps the crowds away. That is worth bundling up for.
Utah??? UTAH??? Oh fermi... I'm beginning to think there's no hope for you.
And you won't need cold weather hiking duds... it'll be 65 down there for frell's sake. Short sleeve weather if'n you ask me.
LL - it snowed there last weekend, ya know. I'm seeing forecasts for 50s day and 30s night. Cold enough.
Yeah... I know. It snowed here too! Worst storm of the year, but today it's probably 50 and I was a sweatin' all day.
You just need to grow a thicker skin to come out west... ;)
If twelve years in New England didn't thicken my blood (or skin), a late winter week out west isn't gonna do it either. I'll work up a sweat hiking and be peeling layers off and then putting them right back on as I cool down. I noticed this on a hiking trip in the north Georgia mountains - I take layers off on the lee side of a hill and put 'em back on when I'm back on the windy side.
I'm still disappointed in you... You're going to be in the state just south of me and still won't stop by for a visit...
I see how you are.
You should visit LL, Fermi! Then you could confirm whether or not the black copters are coming for him. Or, you know, if he's just crazy.
You do realize that those two things are not mutually exclusive...
Have a great time fermi! Just remember to stock up on your liquor before you leave Salt Lake...
ctheokas - I think we already know the answer to at least one of those questions...
LL - We're getting on a puddle hopper in Salt Lake and flying into Grand Junction, CO. Shorter drive from there. I'm not worried about finding some hootch in Moab. The first two days in Torrey are another story though. We'll be stocking up two day's worth in GJ before setting out.
It's Utah... you're going to have a hard time finding anything alcohol related.
