Hotter Things To Do On A Hotter Day

Go to Pike's Nursery at 11am and spend an hour in their greenhouse picking out plants. (And I thought that Braves game was hot...) Take 'em home and spend a few hours at mid-day planting them in the sun.

It was grey, very grey, here today, cool breeze too and the house felt cold. Till I went to the kitchen and started cooking! Boy, did the old house heat up quickly then. Drenched in sweat after cooking cabbage, and rice/ground beef filling for pigs in the blanket. Oh -one kitten moved out, another promised to a family. That just leaves two to go!

LL - I can deal with the heat. I stopped when I did because I thought I might be getting sunburned. That, and I didn't have the strength to dig any more holes. I put PDM on notice that he might have to dig the rest -- that area is hard dirt with tons of roots. There is only so much I can do.

Jeni - grey!?! We haven't had a grey day in quite a while. But since it was too hot to cook and we were both tired and sore, we went to a local family-owned Italian restaurant for dinner. It was yummy, and our kitchen didn't get hot.

Yesterday had today hands down on heat! Today was not quite as bad.

Yea, that Georgia clay gets really hard in the summer when there is no rain. Try using the post hole digger and fixing fences in it!

Right now, I am not missing Georgia very much!

Red - yup, that dirt was hard as a clay brick. And it is amazing how the sun can sap your energy. I'll try again tonight.
