Wiped Out

You probably think the post title refers to the whuppin' my beloved Yellow Jackets received last night, but you would be wrong. It refers to me. I'm exhausted. We left the house yesterday at noon, and got home at 1:30am. I'm getting too old for this.

Woke up late, halfheartedly tried to do some yardwork to take advantage of the cooler temps, but I just didn't feel like it. It wasn't hard to convince PDM to stop pulling weeds and go to Waffle House for some grub.

We were at the game. It was a long night at The Flats. TV timeouts and a metric crapload of penalties (some rather dubious) stretched the game well into four hours. I stayed until the bitter end. BC looked very good. Tech... didn't. It was a long ride home.

You're still so young. It's normal for the body to want to take a lazy Sunday once in a while. Isn't it? =/

beth - this went beyond lazy, I'm afraid. Half an hour of yardwork and one load of laundry for the entire weekend is pathetic. I hate to admit it after reading your latest blog entry, but our house is a mess.

myutopia - I left a comment for you on your blog, but I will also say it here: Congratulations on your big news! I'm wishing a smooth pregnancy for you.

Waffle House? Blech.

What's wrong with Waffle House?!?

Fiesta omelet and hash browns - scattered, smothered, covered, and peppered. Yum!

After numerous forays to North Carolina to deposit/visit son at school, I've decided that the Mason-Dixon line should be replaced by the IHOP-Waffle House line. The thing that absolutely boggled my mind on first visit to Waffle House was the mountain of whipped cream that came on my waffle. We northerners tend not to consume such substances for breakfast. I learned to ask for it on the side. That was after the waitress refused to believe I didn't want any at all.

They have Waffle House north of the Mason-Dixon Line, too - just not one on every corner.

The ACC looks like it has the potential to be a real mess this year. No one team looks dominant.

thewritegirl - I never order waffles from Waffle House, so I never knew about the whipped cream. That does seem like a strange thing to put on a waffle.

dr s. - BC looked very tough in Atlanta. They dominated Tech (who I think is still a very solid team) and their quarterback was impressive (of course their line was giving him all day to throw, so who wouldn't?). Unfortunately, their non-conference schedule is weak (Army, Mass, Bowling Green, and the worst Notre Dame team in recent history), so they will not be truly tested until they play in a bowl game. The traditional powerhouses of the ACC are all mediocre this year and have not fared well out of conference.
