Prime Time Ain't So Prime Any More

...At least not for the next couple of weeks.

No House tonight. No Bones tomorrow night. No House or Bones next week either. And why are these two fine shows not on the air? Because that cesspool of the airwaves, American Idol, has entered a bloated new phase in its seemingly never-ending crap fest. Television that doesn't suck will have to wait until they insult and remove enough 'contestants' to knock AI back down to a one-hour timeslot again.

I hate that show with the fire of a thousand suns.

Look on the bright side, at least you can catch up on your Veronica Mars eps...

That's right. Veronica Mars rules! As for hating things with the fire of a thousand suns? Ever thought about wtiting lyrics for a metal band? That's a great line.

To give credit where credit is due, I think Trina said it first.

Has Trina ever written lyrics for a metal band?

I had the same reaction -- to the lack of House and Bones, not to the notion of writing lyrics for a metal band. I'll leave that to the, um, experts.

At least Studio 60 was on last night so it wasn't a total wash. But from what I'm hearing, that may have been the last ep. John Doe...Farscape...Studio 60. Is it me? Am I the jinx? Sigh.

Four out of five metal experts agree. You are the jinx.

The Fire Of A Thousand Suns would be a good name for a metal band...

American Idol makes a certain kind of sense in the current music industry climate, since the major labels are looking for people who they can wring a few quick singles out of and then discard, just like in the old days. Unfortunately, there are more kids out there wanting to be the next Britney Spears than are wanting to be the next Kelly Joe Phelps.

I too hate AI with the fire of a thousand suns. And I only listen to metal bands, not write for them. Bones and House should never be put on hold for such drivel.

Any girl who wants to be the next Britney has got a pretty tough act to follow. First shave her head, then bolt from rehab -- twice! I mean, how do you top that?

wait wait wait....Studio 60 is getting cancelled, its soo good damn it!

I knew that AI would be the end of civilization, I just thought it would have stood for Artificial Intelligence and they would slaughter us by the millions. Not American Idol and numb our minds to the point that our brains become so atrophied that they can no longer keep involuntary functions going.

I think it's utterly ridiculous the amount of news space AI gets. I was listening to "news" radio this morning (just for the traffic & weather together on the 8s) and caught some "teaser" about how some chick from Detroit is wowing the country or something. They had the chick singing/warbling in the background, so I assumed it was an AI thing. I switched to my beloved CBC Radio 2 to avoid it.

BTW, hyphens around "news" because I think it should be called All Commercials, All of the Time with the occasional five second snippet of news.

I only listen to "news radio" when I absolutely, positively need a good traffic report right away. Otherwise I am all about NPR. And very spoiled by it - no commercials, and no 'news' about American Idol (or Britney for that matter). Good stuff!

Britney just misses all that hot sex she used to have with Kevin Federline...

There shouldn't be any shortage of morons willing to step up and take his place.
