Silvio's about a have a bad week.
We're hosting the big T-Day family gathering this year, and the most of the gang arrives tomorrow... with kids. Thirteen people for dinner, and eleven people sleeping here (including us). Silv was bashful with just PDM's older brother here last night. He'll probably spend the next few days quivering under the bed. Or maybe he'll finally grow a set and get over it. The girl cats do just fine, thankyouverymuch.
I took this week off, so preparations have gone on at a leisurely pace. Having company over forces you to clean things up. Having overnight company means you have to clean up stuff that rarely sees the light of day, such as the bottom shelf of the 'fridge. It's amazing how much expired stuff can accumulate -- and we had already kinda sorta cleaned out the old food last week (or so we thought).
I've done my best to ferret out all the hidden cat hair and other dirt. The linens are clean, and the cobwebs have been removed. The case+ of "two buck chuck" (only the best wine for my family!) has been lovingly selected from Trader Joe's, along with some crackers, cookies, nuts, and cheeses. I've got all the stuff we need to make hot bourbon-laced cider. All we need is a few last minute groceries and a beer run. Let the invasion begin!
Happy T-Day to all, and remember: TO HELL WITH GEORGIA!!!

Enjoy!!
Hugs to Silvio
Grow a set? He's afraid you'll have them cut off too...
Thanks for the reminder that I better start getting busy with the food preparations for tomorrow and then, again for Sunday. Yes -two Thanksgiving dinners here this year! Thursday will be us and my SIL's dad and sister, her baby girl and maybe, her son (not sure if he will be here or at his dad's place.) Sunday will be all three of my kids, the older grandson, older daughter's fiance, maybe the step-grands too -not sure on that -and of course my son. Why do it this way? Because my son has to work on Thursday -will still be one the road and older daughter says it will be easier for them and the older grandson to come up on Sunday so Mom gets the dubious honor then of fixing two turkeys within a three day time span! Oh, the fun of all the leftovers!
dianne - I will. He doesn't know it yet, but he is enjoying his last little bit of freedom and solitude right now.
dr s - only if they don't work right.
jeni - double the work? Double the fun, I hope!
Send Silvio over here. He can hang with me, watch the games, maybe a bit of catnip while I drink some beer. Just the guys.
My cat Stanley is the same exact way. When my sister and her kids came up for her step-daughter's wedding, I didn't see him for 3 days because he refused to come out. (Except late at night when everyone was sleeping.) Poor kitty. ;)
Have fun with the familia!
Dave - Silvio says it's a deal!
NYPinTA - I think Silvio and Stanley are clones.
First you emasculate him, then you admonish him to grow a pair? Typical woman... :P
I am over/up here wondering how you're managing.
All the best to you and yours!
LL - it is a figurative thing.
tiff - Invasion in full force. We're fine - got scads of Indian food for supper (with pizza for the kids), and Silvio is hiding in our room.
Poor putty Tat. Hope your turkey day fared well!!!! How is the great sleepover gonna work with one potty?
jenny - T-Day was great! The "new" bathroom isn't completely finished, but everything is functional, so we are back to 2.5 baths.
Cracking up at the doc's comment.
Why are you being so nice to LL and foregoing Friday catblogging? ;-)
Kat - don't you worry. I've got a ton of cat photos built up for later posting. I might get a little bored in January and up the frequency. You never know. Is there a Cat Month? Maybe there should be...
