I took today off as a comp day, since I spent all day at work Saturday not getting things done around the house. After allowing myself twenty minutes with some hot tea and the newspaper, I hit the ground running and didn't stop all day. I got surprisingly little checked off my list, although it should be vastly easier to clean the house for our Thanksgiving guests next week. I spent most of the day deep cleaning. I hate how it takes all that work just to get back to status quo (clean house, no cobwebs or cat hair). I only got a tiny bit of work done on the new bathroom. It is functional now, but I will save the picture show until we have painted and installed all the new hardware.
My reward was going to see Zack and Miri Make a Porno at the local movie tavern with a friend. (Getting out of the house was the only way I was gonna stop working -- I was obsessed.) The movie was fun. Raunchy of course, but the underlying story is actually kind of sweet. It was a good choice. We both needed to laugh and this movie delivered. Plus, I had wine and a quesadilla. And came home to a very clean house. Life is good.

Yay! We thoroughly enjoyed Zack and Miri though I was a little uncomfortable that there a couple of elderly people sitting next to us in the theater. Seeing it on a Tuesday followed by wine and quesadillas is even better. Good for you!
*Whew* For a minute there, I thought there'd be pictures of cats or something with that title... ;)
And T-giving is coming to the fermi house this year eh? Well... here's hoping that it's nice enough to use the new porch!
Oh ho! Next time you want to go on a "deep cleaning" binge, let me know and you can come up here and do a number on my house! Just kidding there. I wouldn't wish that kind of deep cleaning on anyone, not even my daughter's obsessive-compulsive fiance. Although, now that I think about that, maybe he'd be the best one to wheedle into that task as he'd actually enjoy the work.
magnetbabe - I got to have the wine and quesadilla during the movie, which is very cool. I know what you mean about uncomfortable - a bunch of us girls went to see Borat and there was an elderly couple nearby. They left after about 15 minutes. I'm not sure what movie they thought they were seeing, but clearly their expectations were not met.
ll - that would take a Friday reference. And yes, the whole fam-damn-ly is coming to our house. And most of them are sleeping over. Thirteen people for dinner, and eleven people sleeping here. Gulp.
jeni - nice try. My friends at work have also had a crack at getting me to come over and clean. Nothing doing.
eeek, time to start cleaning for guest already? ieeeeeeee
jenny - it had to be done. I'm glad to have it over with, and it went so much faster being home alone.
My confession is I don't go to movies except once a year. When did they start serving quesadillas and wine at movies?
Man, I gotta get out more.
