Silvio came home this afternoon. He's not 100% back to normal with the peeing though. We'll see how it plays out from here. I worry because PDM has to work a long day tomorrow and I am not going to be home to check on him. It wouldn't do any good to have a friend stop in because Silvio would just hide.
That's all I have the energy to write for now. I've been out all day and still need to eat supper (yes, I know it is 10:30pm). I'll blog about it later, but today I saw some old friends - one here in Boston, and the other out in the boonies where I used to live. It was quite the project getting to Southbridge. Walked to the station, took the subway to the airport, then shuttle bus to rental car place, then long drive on the Mass Pike. It was gorgeous and sunny all day long, but somehow I had to drive through torrential rain to return the car to the airport. Weird. At least it stopped by the time I had to walk back to the hotel.

How odd about the rain.
You must be exhausted.
I'm sure the vet wouldn't have sent him home if he didn't feel he was better.
Hang in there
dianne - just talked to PDM. He is going to run home at lunch time to check on Silvio, to make sure he'll be OK.
Oh man, since I visit weekly and catch up on everything then, I missed everything about silvio. =( I'm so sorry he's having problems, but I hope it is all gone now with no more complications. Good thing you caught it!!!
Off note, Boston is my favorite big city in the US.
Cool, thanks for the update!
Fingers crossed for Silvio. We all love him too.
beth - a little too much drama for my tastes... I'd forgotten how cool Boston is. I haven't been here in over four years. Used to come here a lot when I lived in central MA.
jenny - the latest is that PDM came home to check on him, and took him to the vet for a quick check. So far, he is doing well.
thewritegirl - thanks! He's a big sweetie.
I'm glad PDM got to check on him. I wish Silvio had a cell phone, I'd call him :)
Best wishes to Silvio! I know there's a part of you wanting to be home with your baby right now.
Silvo hides too! I think your cat and my cat are the same cat. Hope he feels better. My cat got kennel cough and gave it to Misty. They are both fine, but sneezing cats are the worst. They never know they are going to sneeze. The just do it... and in my face too. Yuck.
PS Love Boston!
dianne - no messages or texts from PDM tonight, so Silvio is most likely still doing fine.
dr s - YES! It was a bad time for me to be gone. Sick pets are much easier to deal with if you can share the burden.
nypinta - sounds like they are cut from the same cloth. Silvio is terrified of strangers. Really gregarious with us, though. We have trouble with Zima getting the sneezes once in a while, but none of the other cats seem to get it. Zima keeps sneezing until we get her some kitty antibiotics. It worries me because of her age.
Any updates today? I jumped online from school just to check on your kitty. :)
jenny - that's sweet. No news today, which is the same as good news. PDM would call me if anything was wrong. I will be home tomorrow afternoon/evening. Can't wait to see the little bugger.
Glad the scaredy cat is doing a little better. I know you got him from a shelter, was he a rescued feral? You are in prime geographical location. Sounds like a lot of socialized kittens I've dealt with, completely comfortable with mom and dad, terrified of strangers. Just curious.
magnetbabe - we did get him from a shelter, who got him when they took in a group of kittens from yet another shelter. I have no idea if he was feral or came from a home. He wasn't always afraid of strangers. When he was a little guy, he didn't freak when friends stopped by.
He's going to have quite an ordeal over Thanksgiving, when three of PDM's four brothers come over and bring their families. We're going to have nine people sleeping over, in addition to PDM and me. Even more people will be there during the day for the meal. Maybe he will get over it. Otherwise, will have a bad few days.
Gosh - poor Silvio.
Boston rocks. I love that place.
it is six pm wed's, r u home? Hows the cat? Funny how we worry about our blog kitty friend.
tiff and jenny - I'm back from Boston. Silvio seems to be doing well. He's a little standoffish around me tonight. And he's peed twice in inappropriate locations since I've been home. Good thing he only squirts out a few drops! But it makes me wonder where else he's done it when we aren't looking.
I'm glad you're home, I'm sure you are!!
Do you think the out of litter peeing is just stress or is he saying something hurts?
My JR used to pee outside the litter every time I came back from traveling. A mixture of stress from me being gone and excitement for my return.
Years later he started doing it when his diabetes was out of control, then it was more him saying he didn't feel comfy. I kept him in a contained spot while I was home to see if I could watch how he behaved IN the litter - you know incessant scratching, staring at it, staying in too long.
I think about you both and the other kitties (this must be confusing for them) - is it just Moxy or is there one more?
Hugs to all
I came back to see if you updated in the comments section and here it is. I'm glad Silvio's getting better, but not about the 'spotting.' I've never had a sick animal (knock on wood) and I couldn't handle urination inside the house like that so you are a saint!!!!
You're home, what's going on?
No matter what happens next, Fermi, you've got to have Friday cat blogging. Do it for LL. I know he'll appreciate it very much. You know how much he loves it.
dianne - one of the two times I saw him pee outside the box, it was because Moxy was in the box. I guess he couldn't wait.
beth - I haven't smelled anything, so I don't think it has been happening often. We've got him set up with his own box and he seems to like that arrangement.
dave - another update is coming up. I've got some other news to share.
ctheokas - I aim to please (or disappoint, depending on your opinion of catblogging)!
