Once again, it is "Drama Central" at work because of a reassignment. Thankfully, not mine. This time. My last reassignment was about six months ago, and I was happy with that change.
I've worked here for three years. One thing seems certain - they continually change who is working where. Our department covers four different facilities. We are all one group, but we don't all work under one roof. No matter what the current situation, the reality is that things change all the time. The best approach is to "make lemonade" and to try to ride out the changes. Easier said than done. But all the facilities have their ups and downs. None of them are Siberia, and they should not be thought of as a punishment.
Meanwhile, the stuff that was making me have to work long hours last week is also affecting this week. I haven't been home before 7pm all week. *sigh* It will get better. It has to. Sometime. I hope. Because this work schedule is not conducive to studying for my board exam. And it is summertime, dammit. Girls just wanna have fun!

I read the post below too and just wanted to mention, I tried out "Weeds," but it wasn't for me. "Dexter" and "The Tudors" though. Man, I love those shows. Oh, and I started watching "Six Feet Under" on your advice too! That's pretty good so far though. Weird to see Dexter kissing a dude that look strangely like Doakes though.
Anyhow, reassignment sounds so X-Files. I think in your case though, it would not be good. I had a job once that moved me around a lot, but it was for me to learn every aspect of the business. I really enjoyed it though -- the changes. Once I mastered it, it was time to go to the next thing. Sucky thing was the person who took over for me didn't master it and I'd end up covering 4 or 5 jobs besides my own daily. Thank God I'm uber-organized ... and half crazy.
What is it that you do again? I mean, exactly? lol
P.S. My big fat ego also wants you to know we peeked at the glider AGAIN and are still very much jealous and wanting it.
Wow, fermi I felt tense just reading that. I know you have to make the most of out changes, but the long hours and the (lack of) studying and the age-old convention that summers are for just for easing up a little makes me really sympathize with you. I hope you finding little ways to treat yourself.
Bright side - it's summer, nad there is still a lot of light left after 7 p.m.
That you can spend studying. Urk!
I agree with Tiff. You can always make a long island lemonade after 7pm, right?
beth - it is only a matter of time until I get moved around again. I will probably be unhappy, but I won't call my boss a backstabber and threaten to quit... which is what this person has done.
magnetbabe - I treated myself to a nap when I got home today!
tiff - yeah, it is still light outside and I should be studying. But I am wasting time on the internet instead.
jenny - I could if I had a few more ingredients. Tonight it is beer or nothing.
well, your smart and creative! When I worked at the prision the convicts made Buck out of bread and fruit juice....
At least I know I'm staying put for the next 15 years. But the only way I've been able to have a weekend off for the last seven years is by using my vacation or sick time.
I say study at work. That'll teach'em.
Good luck with everything...right now I'm just waiting for the bigwigs to figure out how to cut enough peons to make up for their $41 million in bonuses, as well as all the other problems...I just hope I'm too peon-ish to be cut.
I hope you have a great weekend and find enough time to study and relax.
