Dave - From what I have heard (on the internets, perhaps not the most reliable source), Chan's contract extension seems iron-clad. It would be very expensive to get rid of him before 2011. That is a long time to go without beating UGa (which appears to be a given these days) or having a decent record against quality BCS opponents. I can only hope that our new A.D. will demand accountability. They will have trouble selling tickets with the new mandatory donation if we continue the mediocrity fest. The best we can hope for is that some NFL team takes Chan off our hands. He seems like a decent person and I do not have anything personally against him, but he doesn't seem like the best fit for coaching young athletes and getting them to mature into their best. Nothing happening in the ACC for us this year, and we'll get a crappy bowl far from Atlanta, if we get one at all (and I do not think we deserve one the way we are currently playing). The only thing that would in any way redeem our season would be for us to beat Georgia, and I do not see that happening. I'll keep going to games, but it looks like I am due for nothing but disappointment this year.
LL - I do not usually leave games early no matter what, but the last straw for me was about the 4-5th turnover at the end of the 3rd quarter when we were in a position to score. The VT people were very ecstatic. I couldn't take it any more and we left. I did have to get up and go to work today, and it was just not worth staying and seeing more of the self-destruction. People were streaming away from the stadium as if the game were over. We got stuck in traffic (which should not have happened, as early as we left).
I am so damn deflated and disappointed. I've probably seen worse losses, but not in recent memory. We beat ourselves by making mistake after mistake. Just like the Virginia game. Just like the Maryland game. When will they ever learn?!?

&%^*()$ shocking title. What's the halflife on Chan's current job?
Fortunately for me, I could stop watching the game. I feel sorry for those of you that couldn't...
I am so depressed about football. *sigh*

I'm so sorry about the loss that your football team suffered. You sound so down.
Thanks, kat. It was a very long and frustrating night.
