No More Conehead

I removed Silvio's e-collar today for the first time in three weeks. A very thorough round of grooming took place immediately, followed by rolling around on the rugs and some play time. (The cat. Not me. Just wanted to clear that up.)

The dude abides. (Yes, he's still a dude. It's the attitude, not the equipment. Plus he still has that pesky Y-chromosome.)

  1. Probably felt about like I did when I got the cast removed from my arm after I had broekn my wrist. Removal of the cast meant my driving privileges were restored so that, plus being able to scratch my arm from my fingertips to above my elbow had me in 7th heaven! All things considered, same difference there, right?

  2. dave - he looks like normal. Except for all the shaved parts.

jeni - I know it has been hard for him not getting to lick or scratch anything. I'm just glad he didn't go too nutso with the licking and made us have to put that thing back on him! So far, so good.

  3. I would still keep it on him while your away during the day (for a few days anyway)Hard to believe it has been three weeks

  4. jenny - that idea has occurred to me, but he hasn't done anything to himself to make me worried. I will see how he acts tonight, and I can always come home during lunch tomorrow to check on him. He doesn't seem overly interested in licking that area, at least not any more than the rest of him.

  5. Thanks for including the y-chromosome bit. It drives me nuts when people assume cats are "it"s because they are fixed (or otherwise altered). And the attitude - there is definitely a male cat attitude!

    Yay Silvio!

  6. magnetbabe - he is definitely still a dude. They didn't create any female stuff there.

  7. Just caught up on all I missed. (that chicken looks amazing ... does PDM share the recipe?)

So glad Sylvio is truly on the mend now. A picture would have been nice though.

  8. I add to the chorus requesting a picture of the new and improved Silvio dude!!

  9. beth - I will ask him. It is his own recipe he invented by cobbling together several separate ones.

dianne - Friday's comin'! I'm sure I will have time to photograph him between now and then. Besides... I'd hate to disappoint LL.

  10. Good for poor Silvio. And yes, I've always hated people who called their pet an "it" after being spayed or neutered. For heaven's sake, we don't call women who have had a hysterectomy or a man who has had a vasectomy "Its."
